Sliced Cup, 2022 (Installation View)

The sculpture "Sliced cup" is presented in combination with wooden frames which remind of a transport box. The vase as well as the transport box are not recognizable as a holistic object, but are presented in the installation as sliced profiles in different variations. The shape of the vase is a digital copy of an antique vase made of Roman glass, which was found during excavations in a mausoleum in South Korea. Unlike the original vase, the digital file of the "sliced cup" object can be used and produced as a physical object anywhere in the world, regardless of the location of the original object. Space and time do not matter. The artwork is visible at any time in the world. It is a connection between analog and digital age and a play of space and time. The installation shows a connection between the cultural and artistic production in the past and present.
