The supposed beehive, fragile and made of ceramic, stands on a non-organic, rigid metal chair. Inside the object, an irregular beating can be heard. The sound is reminiscent of one or more bees. The sound sculpture metaphorically reveals the danger of the isolation of the individual within the community.
The installation reveals the dichotomy between togetherness and loneliness. It opens up a space for thought. The bee is supposedly alone in the beehive—will it find its way out, or will it stay inside? Has it chosen its own space voluntarily or not?
